In the heart of Niseko, Hokkaido, surrounded by Japan’s best winter scenery, is The Whiteroom Ski School. The school is known for its great teaching, helping both beginners and experienced skiers. The challenge was to create a visual identity that showed its philosophy and unique position, and was also easy to recognize on uniforms, social media, and business cards.

The idea for the logo design came from the feeling of skiing. When skiing down the slopes, the white snow around you feels like an intimate room. I wanted to turn this feeling into a strong, clear logo.

The logo combines three irregular rectangles that represent the slopes and the “snow room.” These shapes create an abstract image of mountains and also cleverly include the initial ‘W’ from The Whiteroom. The design is clean, modern, and uniquely captures the exciting spirit of the school.
